Are you Shakey? (Not sure from username) but if so, you might be having the 
samething happen as me when I was first getting set up. The 999 node number is 
shared with everyone else who is testing so if someone else is 
polling/crashing, they might grab your incoming packets before you (hungry 
hungry hippos): first come first serve). 

If that's the case, it's really hit or miss if you'll see replies or not. Once 
you get a dedicated node #, it should all even out as the packets will wait for 
you to collect. (and only you)
