Amazon shipping slowing down By Edward Willis (http://encw.xyz) Posted Nov/28/2022 Amazon has slowed shipping, from the time of order, in my area from 2 days to as long as 9, with most falling around the 7 day mark. This would not be such a big problem if it wasn't for the fact that Amazon, and online shopping, has reduced the local availability of goods. So many items are hard to get locally now. Supplies of goods are not widely distributed throughout communities like they once were, but are now concentrated in warehouses. I must admit fault here. I am part of the problem. I knew that this might happen and yet I bought from online retailers, particularly Amazon. Looking around online this is apparently a problem larger than just my area. People from all over the country are running into this. It doesn't help that inflation is forcing gas prices higher. Driving to the store to buy something adds appreciable cost to a purchase. Regardless, maybe this is best seen as an opportunity to get into the habit of shopping locally. I've bought most things on Amazon or online for a decade, so that would be a big change for me. I remember shopping before online shopping. It wasn't so bad.
