Scope of this gopher hole on self-sufficiency

All observation is limited in scope, and the thoughts and 
ideas relating to self-sufficiency in this gopher hole are 
no exception. I grew up on the west coast of the United 
States of America, and my thoughts and ideas were formed 
based on the constructs that my environment provided. Moving 
to the midwest has provided some additional insights, but I 
realize that my notions are still largely based on a very 
small set of parameters. This gopher hole must inevitably 
suffer from that reality; please take everything I write in
