I like taking photographs with old film cameras. If I'm honest, I this mostly because I enjoy the cameras themselves. I like the way they look, I like the heft of a machine that isn't mostly plastic, like the sound and the tactile sensation of a good film-advance lev and I like careful manual focussing. The lack of beeping and/or flashing is relaxing. I enjoy the photos, too, I do think there is certain "something" about them, but probably nothing that can't be artificially added to a digital photo. I don't believe film has an objetively measureble technical benefits which are worth caring abo and I certainly don't think that all digital photos look "cold and sterile" or anything like that. Here are some of my better shots. I upload these here under the te of the Creative Commons BY-NC-SA license.
