Subj : Local License Exam Update To : All From : Daryl Stout Date : Thu May 02 2019 05:50 pm Due to the following issues, the central Arkansas ham radio license exam session, that was set for Saturday, May 4, 2019, at 10am, at the Amy Sanders Library, in Sherwood, is CANCELLED. 1) Damage from tornadoes and flooding in central Arkansas on May 2. While the library (the test site) wasn't damaged, there was damage close by...and there may be closed or washed out roads in the area. 2) More rain and thunderstorms forecast Friday into Sunday, then again Tuesday through Thursday of next week...with both threats of severe weather and flash flooding. 3) No one contacted me to indicate that they wanted to take an exam. So, in the interest of safety, I thought it was prudent to CANCEL the exam session on Saturday, May 4 -- sorry for any inconvenience. I have 2 exam sessions set up for June, 2019, as follows: A) Saturday, June 1: 10am, Amy Sanders Library, 10200 Johnson Drive, Sherwood B) Saturday, June 8: 10am, UALR Benton Center, 410 River Street, Benton If there are weather issues, the sessions will be cancelled. I do have potentially 2 examinees signed up for the June 8 session in Benton...but as of yet, no one for the June 1 session in Sherwood. Note that the current General Class Question Pool and resulting exams, EXPIRE on June 30, with a new Question Pool and exams taking effect on July 1.
